Conference, August 27-31 in Philadelphia, PA.
His presentation, titled "Architecture Scenarios for
Web-based and Distributed Systems," will be a part of the "Modern
Software Engineering Practices" track. Here is the abstract of his presentation:
"As Web-based and distributed systems become more complex, architecture plays
more significant role. This presentation introduces and discusses details of
several architecture scenarios created by making specific architecture
decisions, like distributing business logic, XML usage, infrastructure

1999 SIGS Conference for Java Development are now available for download!
- October 29, 1999
- Robert will have two presentations at 1999 SIGS Conference for Java Development
The first presentation, titled "Developing COM and MTS Components in Java and Pure
Java," will show several different approaches to developing COM/MTS components in
Java. Second presentation, "Developing VM-Neutral Code," discusses techniques
and patterns for writing Java code that can be executed on different platforms and
different Java Virtual Machines. The conference will take place in San Jose, CA, from

Rational User Conference
His
presentation, titled "Optimizing Architecture for Distributed Web Systems," will
be a part of the "Modern Software Engineering Practices" track. Here is the
abstract of his talk:
"With the explosion of business usage of the Internet, in addition to old, commonly
known architectural issues, developers now face new challenges. This presentation
discusses how to define and optimize architecture for complex, distributed systems that
need to support multiple delivery channels. This presentation also discusses how this
architecture fits with the Rational Unified Process."

- Robert will be one of speakers at 1998 Rational User Conference!
This
year, the Rational User Conference
will take place in Orlando, June 14-17. The conference will feature 10 tracks and over 100
sessions. If you want to learn what is going on the in the OO business and share your
experenice with other developers, this is the place to go! We especially recommend two
tracks. Track 7, Visual Modeling, contains sessions on applying Rational Rose. One of the
sessions will be presented by Robert - he will talk about Integrating
Rational Rose 98 with Visual J++. Track 10, Modern Software Engineering Practices,
features such OO experts as Ivar Jacobson, Grady Booch, Jim Rumbaugh, Philippe Kruchten,
and other.

Microsoft Visual J++ Developer Conference!
The
first Microsoft Visual J++ Developer
Conference (Los Angeles, April 27-30) focuses on Java development using Microsoft
Visual J++. The conference will feature the forthcoming new version of Visual J++. Robert
will have two presentations during this conference. The first one, Object Modeling with UML,
introduces Java developers to the Unified Modeling Language, especially topics related to
Java. The second presentation, Developing Applications with
Java, IIS, and ASP, talks about building complex, distributed, multi-tier systems
using Java, Active Server Pages, and Internet Information Server.
